参赛作品要求：

1、拍摄天津地区的各种鸟类，能表达出参展者对鸟类动物的喜爱或展示鸟类动物的千姿百态。

中国古动物馆是中国科学院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所创建的国内唯一一家以古生物化石为载体，系统普及古生物学、古生态学、古人类学及进化论知识的自然科学类专题博物馆，也是目前亚洲最大的古生物博物馆。中国古动物馆同时也是北京市人民政府命名的北京市青少年教育基地，中国古生物学会授名的科普教育基地，以及中央国家机关思想教育基地和全国青少年科技教育基地。1995年12月，经北京市文物局批准，中国古动物馆正式对外开放。

中国古动物馆位于北京西直门外大街142号的古脊椎动物与古人类研究所的综合办公楼旁，主体为一形似恐龙的三层青色古堡式建筑，与展示现生动物的北京动物园隔街相望。它的建筑面积约3400平方米，目前有2200平方米的馆内展厅以及约2000平方米的馆外古生物广场对社会公众开放。

中国古动物馆馆内按照古动物的演化序列划分为两馆（古脊椎动物馆和树华古人类馆）四个展厅（古鱼形动物和古两栖动物展厅、古爬行动物和古鸟类展厅、古哺乳动物展厅、古人类与旧石器展厅），并有一个大型的东厅特展展厅。依托研究所近百年收藏的20余万件标本，展出了从中精选的有代表性的藏品800余件。展品之精美、种类之齐全，堪称亚洲第一、中国之最。这里陈列着自4亿多前的志留纪至距今1万年前史前时代的地层中产出的各门类化石标本和旧石器标本及模型，包括无颌类、鱼类、两栖动物、爬行动物、鸟类、哺乳动物和古人类化石及旧石器等，全面展现了史前动物和古人类的自然遗存和遗迹，及其生命演化的宏伟历程。

中国古动物馆的古脊椎动物馆创建于1994年10月，1995年12月对外开放。该馆包括三层三个展厅。第一层的古鱼形动物和古两栖动物展厅展示了各种无颌类、鱼类和两栖类化石标本，其中包括科摩罗政府赠送的被称为活化石的拉蒂迈鱼标本，这是本馆的一件馆藏珍品，同时也是国内仅有的五六件标本中保存最好的个体之一。在一层的中央有一个巨大的与二层相通的恐龙展池，展出了中国有代表性的几种大型恐龙的骨架，其中包括中国最大的，也是世界上脖子最长的恐龙长达22米的马门溪龙，它的脖子就有9米多长。第二层的古爬行动物和古鸟类展厅展出了包括恐龙、恐龙蛋、翼龙、鱼龙、鳄、龟在内的各种古爬行动物以及孔子鸟、安氏鸵鸟等古鸟类的珍贵标本。其中二楼南侧恐龙走廊中的第一件展品许氏禄丰龙化石骨架被称为中国第一龙，它是我国发现的时代最早的恐龙（生活在2亿多年前的云南），也是中国第一个装架的恐龙（1941年在重庆北碚装架），由我国古脊椎动物学创始人杨钟健院士研究，该标本也因此成为本馆的镇馆之宝。在二层的东北角，本馆最新展出了一个带有羽毛的恐龙化石董氏尾羽龙，这是一个堪称世界级珍品的古生物化石，身上保留了羽毛的清晰痕迹。恐龙身上长有羽毛，这是我国学者最新的古生物发现，从而震惊了世界；该标本曾多次出国展出，引起国内外学者和观众的极大兴趣。第三层古哺乳动物展厅展出了各种各样的古哺乳类标本及骨架，包括大家熟知的威严耸立的黄河象的巨型骨架，它有将近4米高，是当时陆地上最高大的动物，被写入我国小学《语文》五年级课本，观众可以在此一览真容。

古脊椎动物馆的每层都各有一幅数十米长的巨型油画依墙展开，分别绘制了古生代的海洋及陆地、中生代的恐龙世界、新生代的哺乳动物家园等三个主题，展示出产自中国的各个地质时代古脊椎动物群落独有的生态面貌及自然景观。

中国古动物馆的树华古人类馆于1999年建成开馆，通过展出古人类化石和旧石器标本及模型，系统普及了人类起源与进化的科学知识，昭示了人与自然共存共荣的科普主题。内容包括举世瞩目的北京猿人头盖骨以及国外赠送的各种珍贵的古人类化石标本和模型，还有人类使用过的各种石器和骨器。

中国古动物馆的馆外是2004年建成的古生物广场。在宽阔的西直门外大街的路边，三组巨大的恐龙雕塑掩映在蓝天、绿树和青草之间；在弯曲的古生物甬道上，一个个精美的古生物刻绘把游人带回到遥远的史前时代。

1998年1月，中国古动物馆创办了小达尔文俱乐部，该俱乐部常年招收并组织对古生物学感兴趣的中小学生参加野外考察、化石发掘、筛选和修理、模型制作等科普教学活动，并专门聘请研究所的专家举办科普讲座。使学生通过亲身实践启发科学思想、了解科学过程、掌握科学方法，从而起到了良好的科学教育效果。

从2003年开始，中国古动物馆逐步增加了介绍热河生物群的展览内容。热河生物群被国际学者称为20世纪最惊人的古生物发现。其中包括带羽毛的恐龙和各种珍稀的古鸟类化石，以及大批已经灭绝的珍贵的古生物物种。2004年6月～9月，博物馆举办了中生代的空中霸主世界首个翼龙胚胎特展，突出介绍我国翼龙研究的最新成果。这个翼龙胚胎化石就是产自热河生物群，是众多珍贵的热河脊椎动物化石的一个代表。

2004年8月起，中国古动物馆专门邀请研究所的研究生担任特邀辅导员。每到周末和节假日，都有古生物学、古人类学的硕士或博士研究生来到中国古动物馆，结合他们自己亲身经历的研究工作，为广大观众系统阐述生物进化的知识。十一黄金周期间，本馆还组织了霸王龙来了科普活动，加拿大政府赠送的霸王龙巨型骨架模型经过十多年的馆藏，首次屹立在博物馆的恐龙展池供观众参观。馆内还同时举办了一次古生物家签名售书活动，图书包括《进化之谜》、《史前生物历程》、《消失的恐龙》、《热河生物群》、《未亡的恐龙》和《翱翔天空》等近年来出版的古生物科普图书精品。

2004年12月，中国古动物馆与相关技术部门合作，首次将电脑多媒体系统引入馆内，陆续研发了四套介绍恐龙和其他古生物演化知识的寓教于乐的多媒体触摸显示系统，包括《趣味恐龙拼图》、《神奇的古生物世界》、《复活带羽毛的恐龙》等。观众可以亲手操作，了解科学知识，从而将科学性、互动性和娱乐性统一为一体。

2005年六一儿童节，古动物馆对所有儿童、学生免票，并请研究所的专家开办恐龙故事会，讲述中国的恐龙和它们的研究历史，受到小朋友们的热烈欢迎。

2006年7月，古动物馆将推出寒武纪生命大爆发澄江生物群特展，讲述我国云南5亿多年前的海洋中发生的惊人故事。
