这个故事还得从1997年说起，维姆是比利时的一位艺术家，他年轻时总是有着奇特的点子，进行了一系列有趣的创作。有一天，他和朋友在农场散步，无意间看见有小孩拿着画笔在猪的身上进行涂鸦，维姆觉得十分有趣。

回到家后，他想到自己或许可以利用这种创作形式来赚钱，于是他联系了一位农场主，买来了一头猪。不过他要做的并不是给猪涂鸦这么简单，而是要为其纹身，因为涂鸦的颜料太容易脱落。

为了能顺利完成他的创作，维姆将这只猪洗干净后剃去了全身的毛，他用买来的麻醉剂将它全身麻醉，然后把四肢绑在木板上。失去了知觉的猪只能躺在那里一动不动，任维姆“宰割”。他拿起纹身工具在猪皮上进行创作，但是每次的时间不能太久，大约2小时麻药的作用就会褪去，感受到疼痛的猪会进行激烈的反抗。

这时维姆就会把它放回猪圈，等待下次注射麻药后再继续自己的创作。这个频率大约每周一次，通常在一头猪身上完成全部创作需要两个月左右的时间。这些被纹身后的猪会被他以高价卖掉，并且销售情况比他预计的还要好。

没想到的是，几年后维姆却因为他的创作收到了一张法院的传单，这是为何？原来，维姆曾经在一头猪身上纹上了香奈儿公司的标志，他们认为这样的创作侵犯了公司的知识产权，要求进行赔偿。

维姆急中生智，要求进行庭外调解，他与公司商量请求对方撤回对他的诉讼，他愿意提供一头纹身猪让其制成皮包进行售卖。香奈儿公司察觉到其中的商机，认为这是一种可行的方案，于是双方达成调解。

2008年，香奈儿利用从维姆那里收购的迪士尼主题纹身猪皮制作了2个限量款手提包，这款还没开售就被人以高价预定，共卖出55万英镑（约50万人民币）。

维姆的聪明才智被许多人赞扬，但也有动物保护协会的成员提出抗议，他们认为维姆是在虐待动物，香奈儿公司的这项商业活动也是不人道的。后来，香奈儿公司没有再推出类似的皮包，但维姆仍旧不顾外界质疑继续他的艺术创作。给活猪纹身究竟算不算虐待动物呢，你怎么看？
