1、侧重点不同
conception所指的“概念”“观念”“想法”是哲学用语,指理性的认识与概括的结果。
例句：It is impossible for a blind man to have a conception of colours
盲人不可能有颜色的概念。
concept指从同类事物中归纳出来的“基本概念”，也指一般人们对某一事物所持有的“观念”。
例句：These basic concepts must be kept in mind in our discussion of China's cultural problems
我们讨论中国文化问题时,不能忘记这些基本概念。
2、延伸意思不同
conception除了表示“概念”之意，还可以表示“怀孕”之意。
例句：Six weeks after conception your baby is the size of your little fingernail
怀孕6个星期后，胎儿的大小相当于小拇指的指甲。
3、词源不同
conception： 14世纪初期进入英语，直接源自拉丁语的conceptio，意为概念，观念。

notion的用法
1、notion作“概念,观念,看法”解时,常接that引导的从句作notion的同位语。
2、notion作“突然的念头,奇想,意图,打算”解时常接动词不定式或“of+ v -ing”作定语。
3、表示“思想、观点、观念”之意，notion指的是一种模糊的，变化莫测的想法，无可靠的基础，未经深思熟虑的观点。

1、concept表示“概念”，原来是一种哲学术语，如今用的比较普遍，但是比conception更加书面学理化。
2、表示“思想、观点、观念”之意，concept指从众多实例中通过概括、归纳而形成的对事物本质、全貌及其内部联系的概念或看法。

Concept，conception都是“概念”的意思，区别如下：
concept 常常指被广泛接受的思想或概念，如：
1 The astronomer presented a new concept of the beginning of the universe。天文学家提出了关于宇宙起源的新概念。
2 I can’t grasp the concept of infinity。我无法掌握关于“无限”的概念。
conception 指个人或一些人所持有的具体观念和概念（而不是被广泛接受的想法或观念），或观念、概 念的形成过程，如：
