　　Lauren Christy was born in London and from an early age she wanted to be a ballet dancer From age 11 to 17 she studied at the Bush Davies Ballet School before realizing her true aspirations lay as a singer/songwriter

有时候，老天爷的安排是很令人难以理解的，他让某些人拥有了罕见的才华，却不让他们有太多表现的机会。1979年以三十一岁的年龄过世的蜜妮莱普顿（Minnie Riperton），有着足足五个八度音阶的宽广音域，堪称有史以来天赋最佳的女歌手之一，可惜在歌坛却只能昙花一现。

1947年的十一月八日，蜜妮莱普顿出生于芝加哥，自幼学习声乐、戏剧与舞蹈，后来甚至还一度几乎成为一个歌剧女演员。1961年，十四岁的她在家乡参加了一支女子合唱团「The Gems」，不但获得Chess唱片的合约、推出了好些单曲唱片，还应邀为爱塔詹姆斯（Etta James）等著名的歌手与团体唱和声。为了参加合唱团的巡回演唱，她放弃了进入歌剧院深造的机会。高中毕业之后，她先是在唱片公司兼差担任公关接待员，在合唱团解散后，公司把她留下来，尝试安排她成为一个独唱歌手，甚至还用「安德莉亚戴维斯」（Andrea Davis）的艺名，推出了一张单曲「Lonely Girl」，可惜并不是很成功。

1968年，莱普顿加入了融合R&B与迷幻摇滚的「轮转车站」合唱团（Rotary Connection），担任主唱，随即推出同名专辑，虽然有两首单曲「Amen」和「Lady Jane」在FM地下电台大受欢迎，但是未能得到主流市场的青睐，因此她又开始寻求独力发展的可能，在日后成为她丈夫的李察鲁道夫（Richard Rudolph）协助之下，于1970年推出了首张个人专辑「Come to My Garden」，可惜仍然是叫好不叫座，没有获得商业上的成功。合唱团解散后，她暂时退出歌坛，相夫教子，并且与丈夫共同谱写歌曲。1973年，他们夫妻迁居洛杉矶，在史提夫汪达（Stevie Wonder）的鼓励之下，她应邀在汪达的专辑中担任和声，并且成为汪达专属的合音团体成员之一。

1978年，在录制专辑「Minnie」的时候，她的癌细胞已经扩散到淋巴腺，但是她不肯服输，在许多大牌好友，包括乔治班森（George Benson）、麦可杰克森（Michael Jackson）、史提夫汪达与罗贝塔佛莱克（Roberta Flack）等人助阵伴奏与合音之下，完成了录制的工作。没有多久，她就在1979年的七月十二日病逝于洛杉矶，得年仅三十一岁。在她过世之后，唱片公司把她生前没有发表过的录音，加上了重新的编曲与和声，命名为「Love Lives Forever」推出，为世人留下了永恒的怀念。

调色板是画家创作时的起跳板，调色板的产生时间很难确定，但作为油画的必备工具，它能代表画家的个性和工作精神。有的画家在着色前用调色板作颜色稿，探求色彩大的结构关系，然后调足量将这些颜色搬上画面。

调色板的种类很多，常见的有长方形和椭圆形两种，出售的调色板以长方形居多，可能因为长方形调色板易于制作而且这种形状适合放进油画箱内。调色板多为木质，由三合板或薄木板加工而成，长约四十公分，宽约三十公分，靠边有一个可供拇指伸出的卵圆孔，边缘向内弯曲适于手握。拇指孔处有一木垫，托起来轻便、舒适。木质调色板与亚麻布的颜色近似，调出来的颜色用于画布无需进行色调转换。较为讲究的调色板是用梨木、苹果木或胡桃木制成的，不易变形且表面光滑、易清洗。

画家们并不都使用调色板。点彩派画家修拉用锡盖代替调色板；毕加索在报纸上调色。另外，用玻璃作调色板有两大优点：一是为防止未用完的颜料干燥结皮，用完后可将玻璃板浸入水中存放。二是可根据画面的底色更换玻璃板下的衬托物（白纸、灰色纸或亚麻布等）。但玻璃板必须摆放于平整而稳固的支撑物上。
