如何正确取英文名？这篇文章全都告诉你

首先，我们先来讲几个常见的误区

一、参照**里的主角名字（Fredo、Zeus、Lucifer等）

可以，但是很怪，这就相当于我们的三毛、喜羊羊、玉皇大帝。

二、取很复杂、拗口的名字

现在中国人取名，都喜欢找些生僻的字，这样才不会和别人重名

但是对于外国人来说，假如你取一个很难读的名字（例如 Koothrappali ），那他们可能会觉得：“我天！这名字你是怎么想出来的，这么奇怪”，所以还是以简单为主。

三、 把物体、形容词当作名字

“聪慧”、“美好”、“永乐”，这些形容词用在中国人的名字中，会给人带来一种美好的感觉，但是用在英文名中，就很奇怪

假如你的名字叫Handsome（帅气的），外国人会觉得“Whoo, yes you are,but certainly not humble”（哇，你确实很帅，但是的确不谦虚），因此要尽量避免用物体、形容词当作名字。

重点来了，那如何正确取英文名？

① 首先明确自己英文名字的用途

如果想当艺人，那取一些特殊的名字（上文讲的三大误区）有时效果甚至会更好

如果是想方便自己出国使用或是平常工作需要（外企），那么请接着往下看。

② 常见的英文名 烂大街

流行的英文名完全不等于烂大街，对于英文名来说就是要取大家熟知的，例如David、Tony、Emily等。现在很多国外的大明星都是一些非常常见的英文名，所以不要担心自己的名字和别人重复了。

③ 取名要合时宜

对于中国人来说，假如二十一世纪出生的宝宝叫做“建国”，是不是很奇怪？

当然，外国人也有自己特定时代流行的名字，例如Jennifer，当你看见这个名字的时候，你就可以大概推定出她是70、80后的女性。

我的建议是，先找找自己出生年代时候的流行英文名，然后再决定给自己起什么名字

最后，给大家一个小建议，就是取名字的时候，可以参照自己的中文名

例如你的中文名叫凯丽，那英文名可以取为Kelly

如果你的名字不适合直接翻译成英文，那可以取每个字的首字母

比如姓林，那可以找一个L开头的英文名，这样中文名和英文名就有一定关联啦。
